Linear scanning sensors for medical X-ray imaging

چکیده
8 The advantages of digital radiography (DR) over screen-fi lm (SF) techniques in medical X-ray imaging are well documented in the literature and unanimously acknowledged by radiologists as well as physicists. For the past decade manufacturers have developed a number of commercial digital X-ray imaging systems covering the full range of radiographic applications. The tight requirements in terms of image quality and X-ray dose have made mammography one of the last medical X-ray imaging examinations to date to fall under the pressure of the “digital revolution”. This is confi rmed by the recent approval by the US Food and Drug Administration of a number of full-fi eld digital mammography (DM) systems for clinical use .

Large-area Amorphous Silicon Tft-based X-ray Image Sensors for Medical Imaging and Non Destructive Testing
Large-format digital x-ray image sensors are a recent development in the fields of medical imaging and non-destructive testing. Such image sensors have become practical through the emergence of large-area, amorphous Silicon (a-Si) TFT and photodiode technologies (1,2). This paper will review the fundamental requirements for such x-ray image sensors, and discuss some of the device requirements f...
متن کاملSynthesis and characterization of Gd2O2 S: Tb3+ phosphor powder for X-ray imaging detectors
Gadolinium oxysulfide phosphor doped with trivalent terbium have been synthesized using urea homogenous precipitation and followed by sulfurization at 800 °C under argon atmosphere. Structural and morphological of synthesized phosphor powder were characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FT-IR). Hexagonal structure ...
متن کاملInvestigation of dosimetric characteristic of NIPAM polymer gel using x-ray CT
Introduction: Polymer gel dosimeters contain chemical materials sensitive to the radiation which are polymerized by the radiation as a function of absorbed dose. So information of spatial dose distribution can be extracted by imaging from irradiated gel. Among imaging techniques, computed tomography (CT) poses as an attractive method because of practical advantages such as acce...
متن کاملIntroducing a novel Polyvinyl chloride/Tungsten composites for shielding against gamma and X-ray radiations
Introduction: This study introduces a novel polyvinyl chloride (PVC)/tungsten composites with characterization of their shielding properties by employing different techniques. Methods: The PVC/tungsten composites were produced by employing various weight fractions of tungsten micro-particles including 0, 20, and 40 % wt via melt blending method. In the next st...
متن کاملAn iterative method to estimate x-ray attenuation coefficients in computed tomography
Introduction: The basis of image formation in Computed Tomography (CT) lies in the x-ray linear attenuation coefficient of the scanned material. Compton scattering and photoelectric effect are the dominant interactions of the x-ray photons with the subject, in the range of diagnostic radiology. These two coefficients are important in tissue characterization by Dual-Energy CT (D...
